At Umoja, we believe that every student deserves not only access to education but also the essential support needed to thrive. Recently, UPD provided concrete support to Tonksi Chisalenji, one among the students living with physical disability. Apart from the scholarship, UPD ensured Tonksi’s daily needs were met by providing essential items such as bathing and washing soaps, body cream, toothpaste, and a teeth brush.

This thoughtful gesture goes far beyond simple charity, it demonstrates genuine care and humanity in action.
Such acts of solidarity are crucial in creating an inclusive environment where all students feel valued and empowered. By addressing both academic and personal needs, Umoja sets a powerful example of how institutions can best support students with disabilities. It is through these meaningful actions that we build stronger communities grounded in empathy and respect for every individual’s unique challenges and contributions.
