
On May 5, 2025, UPD hosted a crucial session focused on gender-based violence (GBV), bringing together young women, young men, teenagers, religious leaders, and representatives from various organizations in Dzaleka community and its surroundings. This gathering was not just an event; it was a powerful movement towards change. The active engagement of these diverse leaders in the workshop’s activities fostered meaningful discussions on sustainable solutions and highlighted the urgent need for women’s protection.

The session aimed to educate young people about GBV by providing them with essential information regarding their rights and responsibilities. More importantly, it empowered participants with practical skills to defend themselves and others against this pervasive issue. By equipping our youth with knowledge and tools for advocacy, we are sowing the seeds of hope for a brighter future. Together, we can create an environment where safety is paramount and where every individual feels valued and protected.
