Promoting social inclusion in Lilambwe: UPD and DAFI serving people with disabilities.

On January 26th, the community of Lilambwe in Dowa District witnessed a powerful act of solidarity and social inclusion. For three hours, UPD, in partnership with DAFI, organized a food distribution activity dedicated to persons with disabilities or to their representatives.

The initiative aimed to address essential needs while sending a strong message: everyone deserves dignity, respect, and support

More than fifty beneficiaries including children, youth, women, and elderly people  received basic necessities such as soap, cereals, and salt. Though simple, these items play a critical role in hygiene, health, and household food security.

The activity was made possible through the generous funding of DAFI and the coordination of UPD. Seven committed volunteers from both organizations worked hand in hand to ensure smooth operations.

Beyond material assistance, the day was filled with warm interactions, smiles, and a shared sense of community proving that inclusion begins with action.

UPD sincerely thanks DAFI for their continued support and invites partners, donors, and volunteers to join this mission.

“Inclusion is not a favor; it is a fundamental human right.”
