Partnership with ABILIS

Partnership with ABILIS

We were honoured by the presence of Madam Bridget Banda, the country-coordinator of the Federation of Disability Organisations of Malawi Abilis , accompanied by her assistant, Madam Martha Momba. Their visit was not just a formality; it was a significant step towards fostering collaboration and understanding in our shared mission to uplift individuals living with disabilities.

The purpose of this visit was to assess the impactful work carried out by Umoja People with Disabilities, and to evaluate the potential for both long- and short-term partnerships. This is where our aspirations align perfectly with those of Abilis, an esteemed international organisation from Finland that shares a commitment to building the working capacity of people living with disabilities and their organisations across several countries.

Together, we aim to raise awareness about the rights of people living with disabilities in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. This partnership holds immense promise for improving the status and opportunities available for people living with disabilities. By joining forces, we can amplify our voices and create more substantial change in society. The collaboration between Abilis and Umoja People with Disabilities represents a beacon of hope a collective effort that has the power to transform lives and promote inclusivity at every level.
