The plight of refugees is already a daunting experience, but for those with disabilities, the challenges multiply. Access to healthcare becomes even more vital yet complicated. Umoja People with Disabilities aptly highlighted this issue in their recent campaign themed “Inclusive Health Services for Refugees with Disabilities in Malawi”.
Umoja’s campaign shines a spotlight on the unique obstacles that refugees with disabilities face. From physical barriers to inaccessible facilities, lack of specialized medical care, and even the need for tailored support services, the hurdles are many. But Umoja is determined to change this narrative, advocating for health services that recognize and cater to the needs of all individuals, regardless of their physical capabilities.
The Rights and importance of vulnerables inclusion
