Through education, vocational training, awareness programs, and social support, Umoja People With Disabilities (UPD) works every day to defend the rights and dignity of persons living with disabilities in Dzaleka Refugee Camp and surrounding communities.
At UPD, our mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that disability is never a barrier to opportunity.

Our Story in Action
The images we share reflect more than moments , they represent a movement built on:
Learning. Training. Inclusion. Empowerment. Solidarity.
These are not just words. They are the foundation of everything we do.
- Learning opens doors to knowledge and confidence.
- Training builds practical skills for independence and self-reliance.
- Inclusion ensures that everyone has a seat at the table.
- Empowerment gives individuals the strength to shape their own future.
- Solidarity reminds us that real change happens together.
Breaking Barriers, Building Futures

In Dzaleka and beyond, many persons living with disabilities face daily challenges, limited access to education, employment, and essential services. UPD works directly within the community to change this reality.
Through tailored vocational programs, awareness campaigns, and consistent social support, we are helping individuals discover their potential, develop their talents, and participate fully in society.
Because dignity is not a privilege , it is a right.

A Future Where Everyone Matters
True inclusion means recognizing ability before limitation. It means creating systems that adapt to people , not forcing people to adapt to barriers.
Together, with partners, volunteers, and community members, we are building a future where everyone matters, where diversity is valued, and where opportunity is accessible to all.
