Dialogue for Change: UPD Listens to Vulnerable Populations

Recently, UPD took a significant step by visiting Lilambwe village in Dowa District, engaging directly with vulnerable members of the community, including persons living with disabilities and parents of children living with Disabilities. This interaction was not just a formality; it was an essential opportunity to hear first-hand about their daily struggles and understand what support they truly need. By fostering this dialogue, we aim to explore sustainable and long-term solutions that can make a real difference in their lives.

One of the critical areas of focus during our discussions was ensuring equal access to education. It is alarming how many barriers continue to prevent individuals with disabilities from attending school and fully participating in learning opportunities. At UPD, we recognize that education is a fundamental right, and it should be accessible to everyone without exception.

Our commitment extends beyond mere conversation; we are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every person is respected, supported, and able to thrive. Through capacity building initiatives, social advocacy efforts, awareness-raising campaigns, and vital support services including mobility assistance and counselling, we are working tirelessly towards this goal.

At UPD, we firmly believe that true development is measured by how we treat our most vulnerable populations. No one should be left behind in the pursuit of progress. We invite you to join us in turning these priorities into concrete results. Share this post widely, follow our next steps closely, and stay engaged with our mission.
